Mathematical modeling is increasingly driving progress in clinical cognitive science and assessment. essential for detecting certain effects of psychopathology through comprehensive understanding telltale variables, such as workload capacity efficiency using capacity, well quantitatively stipulating the subtle but important differences among these variables. The research paradigm guiding this formal outlined. A distinctive abnormality schizophrenia—taking longer to cognitively represent encountered stimulation—is used a specific example illustrate general quantitative framework studying intricate phenomena that impair mental health. Developments mathematical will also benefit symptom description prediction; provide grounding statistical new methods assessment over time, both individuals treatment regimens; contribute refining cognitive-function side functional neurophysiology.
